I don't know your situation but I can tell you right now that it could be your attitude. Or your body language. Or the way you talk/write. Or it could just be because people need someone to stereotype. And they chose you. Maybe for no reason at all. But if it happens often, then there probably is a reason.

I try not to judge on appearance. Now, a professional appearance is something I look for in hiring employees. Extreme multi-colored hair is not appreciated by my customers and so I do not consider that appropriate. Blond, black, red or brown hair or skin does not matter to me.
