Girls: what do you think of a guy who shaves his chest?

I have a pretty hairy chest, and I'm self-conscious about it because all the sexy men in the movies and magazines have hairless smooth chests and it makes me feel like an outcast (yes, believe it or not, us men suffer from media stereotypes and body image issues too!)

Anyway, I shave my chest every few months or so, whenever it gets really thick. I just use a simple beard trimmer and shave off most of the hair. I set the trimmer so that it leaves a thin layer of hair because it would be too difficult to take it all off and I think it might look too unnatural if I did.

So my question is: do you think it's weird for a guy to do this? Would you date someone who shaved their chest? Would you rather they just leave it in its natural hairy state? I know waxing is an option too, but I really dont want to go through that, and I don't really spend time at the beach or pool very often.

No, not wierd at all. I actually whine until my boyfriend does shave his chest, it disgusts me when he doesn't. So it's not out of the ordinary, I would much rather be with a guy who has a shaved chest.

Well, I think waxing would be better, or shaving everyday. Because once it gets stubbly, its a huge turn off. I wouldnt want to put my face/skin anywhere near that.

hairy chest are gross so yeah the smooth look is nice but like hot guys like chris evans have some hair on the chest and it doesnt look that bad. just not the whole hairy look grosss

Some girls like hairy chests. My fiance has a very hairy chest and I like it. I dont think its weird for a guy to do this. It is just groming yourself. Personally, I would like it unshaven. I dont think you should wax, just do what makes you happy. Good luck!

I don't think you should shave your chest. It seems kind of vain, which personally is a turn off. Don't be embarrassed by it. And don't worry about the "sexy men" in the movies and magazines. Do you expect all women to look like models? It's not realistic

if you are just trimming your chest hair thats ok.

as someone else said a bit of a hairy chest is awsome i think smooth bare chests are like little boys.

but if you keep it trimmed than thats seriously ok it shows you take care in yourself.

No, it's not wierd for men to shave their chest. My boyfriend has a little patch in the middle and he sometimes shaves it. The only problem is when it comes back in, it is more coarse but I say do whatever pleases you most.

Its cool my man does it all the time he shaves his pubes to. Its okay with me as long as he doesnt polish his nails and wear rollers. It looks better shaved. The only part I dont like is when the hair is growing back it pokes me in the face when I lay my head on his chest at night.
